Hello beauties! I hope your week is going well.🌷

This past weekend I took a little trip on Saturday morning to one of my favorite places ever - Old Forge, NY (& spoiler alert, it was just what I needed).🌞 If you have not read my previous blog post, “10 Tips To Get Over Winter Blues”, then you would not know that a way I like to deal with “winter blues” is to get out for a day and visit somewhere out of my town or city! Something that always helps me get out of a funk is to go out and explore - this little adventure was what I needed for sure. I wanted to share with you guys my little day trip & what I did when I went there. I had never been during the winter before but I was needing a change of scenery from my everyday routine & it was still really fun! Old Forge is a place that brings me peace of mind; I always leave feeling so refreshed and relaxed.

First Stop - Ozzie's Coffee Bar

Aka my favorite place ever. The cutest cafe, breakfast/lunch or even afternoon wine down spot. It’s such a friendly, local, down to earth little coffee spot that I honestly always look forward to visiting when I am in town. Inside there are tables to sit at, and during the summertime/nice weather there is outdoor seating & tables that you can sit at (I could literally spend all day there!) When visiting this past weekend my mom and I went in for a morning pick-me-up and then back again for lunch time and sat inside next to a huge window where the sun was shining in 🙈

My order:

-Morning: Peach smoothie Seriously mine & my bf’s fave thing to order when its a hot summer day out. Soooo refreshing & delicious!

-Lunch: Caramel Iced-Coffee & Blue Mountain Panini (a chicken, bacon, cheese & honey mustard panini.. YUM)

My go-to orders:

-Iced-Tea - My moms fave :-)

-Frozen hot chocolate

-Raspberry White Chocolate Scone

-Chocolate Chunk Cookie

I have never tried their breakfast items before but their bacon breakfast sandwich is something that I want to try the next time I visit!

Second Stop & Third Stop - Picture Perfect Wall & Little Shops

This wall is on the side of a cute little shop and it is so pretty. The colors & flowers/shapes are so springy & summery and I love it. 🌸 Perfect stop for a little photo shoot. 📷 It was a little hard to get to because of all the snow this time but I am for sure going to have a mini photo-shoot in front of it when I come back in the summer time! After the wall we did some window shopping! 🏡 There are so many little shops that in Old Forge along Main Street to visit. A lot of the stores were closed due to it being winter but there were still a couple little shops open that my mom and I got to peek into and look around in. It's always fun to look around and see a lot of handmade & really unique items in these stores.

Fourth Stop - Hardware Store

The Hardware Store is such a cool place to walk around and look at literally anything you could imagine! From kitchen utensils to fishing gear, from cool mugs to decor, from outdoor items to homemade jams/salsas/mixes - there is something for everyone, no joke. I love this store even more because of its history within Old Forge as well. Here is a really interesting article that I found about the history of this building & store, very cool read. This time that I visited I finally ventured to their upstairs section where they put some clearance items & bigger furniture which was all very cool to look at. But the best thing was the view from the upstairs! It is all windows and you can see Main Street and everything that was going on - it was so cool.

Last Stop - Aurora's Donuts Coffee & More

The cutest little donut shop! 🍩☕ I had never been before but had always passed by it when I would come into town - I decided there was no better time to try them out! My mom and I went in there and it was so cute. It was a smaller shop with a donut case, a coffee machine and a table to sit down at. The woman that ran it was super sweet and helpful. We got a dozen donuts and let me just tell you they were sooooo good. We tried the Bavarian cream donut (Mitchell loved this one), maple bacon, cinnamon sugar (my fave one) & then their plain cake donuts. There were a few other flavors that sounded good as well that I will need to try the next time!

In between our stops we walked all around town just getting some fresh air, actually that was one of the best parts! The weather was gorgeous, the sun was out and even though there was a chill in the air it was the perfect day to get outside. Just the atmosphere of Old Forge is so nice. I am going to be putting together a list of all my favorite places to visit, mountains to hike, where to shop, etc. in Old Forge when the weather starts to break and get nicer. 🌄🌷 So be sure to stay tuned for when that goes up in the near future (at least I’m hoping soon, that just means it’s Spring finally!)

I know that this post is a little bit of a different pace for my blog but I just wanted to share with you all a little snip of my life and what I love to do in my free time. 💕 Hope you all enjoy and if you are feeling like you have the case of the "winter blues" that you can get out somewhere and take a little adventure, too!

Until next time,

Michelle Elizabeth🌷
