Overcoming Fear

Helloooo everyone! It has been WAYYY too long since I have popped on here with a new post for you all!
Today I wanted to write about something quick (I miss writing & sharing with you all!) that I have been thinking about quite a lot recently. FEAR. A topic & feeling that I have become all too familiar with. We all have felt it before, we’ve all faced it before. But have we all overcome it? Fear was something that held me back for a long time. I had all of these dreams & goals for myself but I was too afraid to actually get out of my own way & go for them. I would always tell myself that I couldn’t do it because I wasn’t in the “perfect” place to start just yet, little did I know I was just making up excuses because I was too scared to go for it. Last night I was on a team call with some other girls that are fellow coaches and we were talking about dreams and what we have faced on our paths to working towards those dreams. It came up in conversation that we need to become HONEST with ourselves in order to overcome those fears & to actually make those dreams happen. Chatting with these ladies always puts things into perspective for me; it shows me that I'm not the only one trying to reach goals & having that fear creep up where I feel like I can't go out and get actually achieve them.
Little do we all know we can do anything we put our mind to as long as we are willing to put in the work for it!
So here’s some of my tips that I have begun implementing into my day-to-day life in order to start overcoming my fears & help me reach my goals :
Start where you are now & stop waiting for the perfect time
OWN your story & learn to own your fears
Stop comparing yourself to where others are on their journeys - they are not you! (Plus, did you know that we all started somewhere?)
Do things that fill your cup & build you up. For me this is working out, spending time with my loved ones, making time for myself, connecting with others that are like minded & can help encourage me & scheduling my time in an effective way
Map out the little steps that will lead to the outcomes
Create that plan & stick to it
Stop waiting for fear to reach you, work on overcoming it yourself. Fear doesn’t control you, you control it.
Be HONEST with yourself in what you are feeling, with where you’re at, with your goals you are setting, etc.
Personal development. Books, podcasts, journaling, etc. Some of my favorite PD books are: Own Your Everyday , Girl, Wash Your Face, 100 Days To Brave
Go back to your WHY. I find if I am feeling lost I just need to think back on why I started, why I am working towards these goals I have set, why I need to continue showing up each day... always helps me get back on track & clear out any fear.
I am hoping that these 10 tips help you get started or at least get you thinking about how you can overcome any fear that is lingering with you. Fear is powerful, but so are you! You can control it & you can start working to become that person you want to be.
