Hello & welcome back 💕 I feel like as of lately I have been in such a productive mindset and routine and wanted to share with you some of the things I have been loving to do! There are a lot of little things that you can do throughout your day that really maximize your productivity and get you to where you want to be. Not everyone is perfect, but we can try our best to be as close as we can, right? Lets get into the tips ✨
Have a routine/schedule & stick to it. This might seem cliche but trust me! I have mentioned
this is some of my past blog posts (How To Stay Motivated & How To Plan For A Productive Month: My Top 5 Tips - go check them out!) but I will keep saying it, it is soooo important to have a routine so that your days are structured. It could sound silly to some that do not implement a set schedule/routine into their day to day life, but as someone who is a die hard routine gal it is crucial! By having a schedule/routine you are making sure to dedicate time to things that need to get done which is the foundation to productivity ☕
Take care of yourself, you can’t be productive if you aren’t first taking care of you. Eat healthy
foods, make sure you take some “me time", spend time with your favorite people.. Taking care of yourself, at least in my case, has a huge impact on how I feel everyday and it really does affect how productive I am throughout the day. If I am eating lousy, not taking time for myself, etc I find that I have a lot of days where I don’t feel like doing anything and that by me is no good.
Workout at least 4-5 x a week or become more active! Being active & working out really puts you in the best mindset possible. Working out for me is somewhat newer, but since I have begun it has been so amazing. I feel so much more energetic, clear minded, and just overall like a better me. Once I workout I feel like I can literally do all the things on my to do list and then even more.. hahah I love it! 💪
Have a Planner and/or Notebook. Having a spot to write everything down is so important. As a planner girl, I actually have 2 separate planners that I keep. One for my everyday life where I keep things such as my work schedule, any events, and when bills are due and things like that. The other planner that I have is for my blog! It is strictly where I keep my blog post schedule and anything blog related such as photo shoots, emails to respond to, blog post ideas, etc. Having things physically written down always helps me stay focused and working towards what I want to get done.
Break down your goals or to-do’s. Don’t try doing everything all at once, learning how to prioritize will become a great tool in being/becoming productive.
Learn Time Management. ⏰ Figure out how to manage your time effectively, unfortunately it is not the same for everyone. I have found that it is easiest for me to block out chunks of time for different things. Now as someone who works full time during the day, I try to structure my time at night and the weekends in the most productive way I can. Make sure to give yourself time to take care of you, have some time away from social media to get your best work done while also making time to just relax and have fun!
Make yourself accountable. Set deadlines for yourself, tell others, put it on social media.. do whatever you have to do in order to keep yourself accountable to get what you need done done! As for me writing things down on paper that I want to get done means that it has to get done.. The satisfaction of checking/crossing off a to do is the best feeling, hahah who’s with me on this?
Follow/Talk those who inspire you to be the best you can be. This is simple, surround yourself with others who believe in you and want to see you succeed. Create relationships with people that push you to be the best you possible & support you every step of the way. Having people cheering for you is some of the best motivation.
Do things that you love! This one is simple, if you are doing things that you love, being productive & working towards getting them accomplished is so much easier to do. 💕
Figure out the things that drive your motivation. Whether it be connecting with others, sharing your story and having a voice, or simply empowering others.. Whatever motivates you stick with it!
If you need a break, give yourself one! It is OK to take a break or to give yourself some time to relax & reset. We are not made to constantly be doing the most productive things we could be doing 24/7. Knowing when you need to take a break is something so important to learn and figure out - I know that when I get too overwhelmed or have been working on something for too long I don’t put my best work forward. Just taking a break or getting away from my work for a minute does wonders. ✨
Get enough sleep 💤 - you know your body and how you feel.. If you are feeling drowsy or if brain fog is a norm for you, try to track your sleep to see if you are really getting enough of it. By getting enough sleep you will be able to become more productive throughout the day and be able to keep up with your to-do's & goals.
Take some time away from your phone, social media, etc. 📱 I know how easy it is to get wrapped up into looking through Instagram and then all of a sudden you realize an hour later you are looking at a post from 2014 on someone’s profile and think to yourself.. “How did I even end up here?!”. I understand that scrolling through Instagram, or even watching some YouTube videos can be inspiring, but I find that once I put my phone down & close my social media accounts that is really when my productive time begins!
Take these tips are run with them, girl!! I hope that these help you in some way and get you on track to becoming as productive as you always dream of being! It might be difficult to juggle all of these tips right from the start, so start small by implementing your favorite ones into your day to day at first. Before you know it you will be an amazing #girlboss as I'd like to say. 💕 Leave any other tips and tricks you may have in the comments for all of us to read and try! Can't wait to see us all killing it out there being productive!
Until next time,
Michelle Elizabeth
