Hello & happy Monday my loves!! 👋💛
It is a new week and time for us to start it off on the right foot. Does anyone dread Monday's? I used to always, and on the occasion still get the "Monday blues" but for the most part I really try to take Monday's as they are & look at them in a better light. Thinking of them as a new start, a brand new day, and another day closer to the goals I am trying to achieve. I have put together a list of 10 things to-do each & every Monday to make sure you are starting the week off right! Let's get this started:
1. Wake up & DON’T instantly reach for your phone. Try journaling, make a to-do list, go make yourself coffee or a healthy breakfast, sit outside and soak up some morning sunshine.. just try not to jump right onto scrolling through your phone & social media. Give yourself time to wake up & get your day started on the right foot before you become influenced by others. * If you find that this tip is difficult & you want to scroll through your phone in the morning just make sure that you are following those who are inspiring and positive so you don’t get your day started off with bad influences/vibes.
2. Have a morning routine and stick to it. Having a routine will set you up for success and for a productive day & week. I always make sure that I wake up on time so that I have time to get in some me time, make my bed and have enough time to get ready for work. If you start off Monday with your routine you are more likely to continue with it throughout the week.
3. Workout/move your body.💪 Making sure that I get out my Monday workout sets the tone for the rest of my week & gets me excited to workout the rest of the week. There is nothing better than the feeling after a good workout or even just an activity where you are moving your body! I have been on a workout program with the sweetest group of women for just over a month and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I just feel so much better all around & everyday I get closer to goals I have set for myself but nothing beats how I feel consistently working towards these goals everyday.
4. Eat healthy! This, like working out, sets the tone for the rest of the week. If you start out the week strong with having healthy meals & being smart about your food choices you will most likely stick to it throughout the week. I know for me having a bunch of healthy options & starting Monday off strong always gets me motivated for the week ahead! (also, try tracking/writing down some different snack ideas or even meal prep!)
5. Think of Monday as a fresh start instead of “just another Monday”. I know.. But hear me out. I know we can all get the “case of the Mondays” or have a very “typical Monday” as some say but if you have the mindset that Monday will be bad.. It will most likely end up not being the best. BUT if you think of Monday as a fresh start to a new week you are more likely to have a better day and a more positive day!
6. Do something for you. Self care night, get a yummy coffee/treat, go for a walk, spend time with your significant other or your family, give yourself some alone time.
7. Check in with YOURSELF. How are you feeling? What goals do you want to work on this week? What can you do this week for you? This is sooo important. Since I have began focusing on my mental health more this has been very important for me. Try putting yourself first, I know it's very hard but even just a little bit of time focused on you can be life changing. 💛🙌
8. Tidy up your space so you have a clean environment for the new week.
9. Plan it out! Monday is a great day to schedule your week out. Get out your planner & make sure that any appointments/events are marked down and then plan out what you want to-do each day. I like to write out a general weekly to-do list, and then each day I pick a couple/few things off of that list to get done. My Monday planning has a lot of “time-blocking”. I do work 9-4 M-F, so I know that time needs to be blocked out, when I get home I always work out so I block out an hour for that, then it varies everyday for the night hours & my morning hours as well. I highly suggest planning out your day to day - it makes everything so much easier during the week to have a schedule! 10. End the day by reflecting. Look back on your day & see if you have gone through these steps to get the most out of your Monday. Reflect on what you have done today to impact the rest of your week & get you in the best mindset.
Hoping everyone had a great Monday & you are ready to take on the week ahead! If you have any tips that you would like to share let me know in the comments below ⬇️⬇️ I would love to hear them!
Until next time,
Michelle Elizabeth 💛☀️
