Welcome back to the blog & happy Monday everyone!!!💛
I don't know about you, but sometimes I just wake up and it is not my day.. as soon as I get up something in me is off and i'm just not feeling the best. Sometimes I have these kind of days and I wanted to share with you a real life type of post. Not everyday is going to be perfect, we can't always be doing what we want to be .. but that is ok! Whenever I wake up having an off day, I try to focus on it. Figure out what is going on with me and what is going on around me so that I can take action and turn it around! Sometimes it is a simple fix, I go grab myself a yummy coffee and I'm all better.. but other days it seems a little more difficult to overcome.
THIS IS SO NORMAL PEOPLE!! So please don't ever feel alone!
✨ Here are some of my favorite ways to take a bad/off day and turn it around into a productive and positive day.. ✨
- Do things that you know give you instant gratitude. Things that work for me: go get a coffee either by myself or with someone, getting outside, going for a walk or run to clear my mind, spending time with my family or even just taking some time to be by myself.. there are so many different things but those are just a few things.
- Journal about what is making you have a bad day/making you upset. Being able to figure out what is really making you have a bad day can help you solve the problem. Also, by writing down what caused you to feel off it could help you the next time as well!
- Write down all the good things about your day or even life in general. This always brings me joy just because it makes me think of all the amazing things in my life.. my family, my s/o, my pup, iced-coffee, flowers.. Absolutely anything! I guarantee that this tip will help feel better so give it a try! Click here to see all the different gratitude journals on Amazon, so many different ones to choose from!
- Talk to someone. Either your best friend, boyfriend/husband, your mom/dad, siblings.. Anyone that will listen and that you know will give you good advice or just help you feel better. Even if you don’t feel like talking to someone will help, see how it goes.
- Workout! I know, I know... on days that I am having an off day the last thing I want to do is get up and workout. But just take my word for it - put on your favorite workout outfit, get set up, grab some lemon water, and get to work girlfriend - when I say that you will feel so much better after you do! 💪 Working out/moving your body releases endorphins in your body as well as serotonin which both help improve your mood and decrease stress and anxiety. So it is the perfect medicine for when you are feeling down!
- Listen to your favorite music or podcast. There is nothing that a little dance & jam sesh can’t fix or that your fave podcast can't help with 💃💁
- Take a break from social media for a little while. Sometimes you get caught up in the constant society on social media - comparing yourself to others, wishing you were living someone’s “amazing” life they are leading on their Instagram - Just take a break, be present in YOUR amazing life and stop comparing yourself! It is something that I catch myself doing sometimes as it’s so easy to do, but try to catch yourself and be happy with just being you!
- Do some self reflection. Think of where you have been and how far you’ve come. What can you do to prevent future bad/off days?
- Practice some self-love / self-care.💛 Take some time to take care of you! Do a face mask, give yourself a mani/pedi or go get one, self tan, watch your fave movie & lounge in your fave pj's with your pet, make yourself or order a delicious dinner.
- Read a motivating book. While you are taking a break from social media, or having your little self care night read a motivating, inspiring, or self help book!📖 Some of my faves: "Girl, Wash Your Face": Rachael Hollis & "You Are a Badass": Jen Sincero.
Hoping that if any of you are having an off day or even if you have them every now and then that these tips help you and get you back on track!
If you have any other tips leave them in the comments below for us!
Until next time,
Michelle Elizabeth💛
