Starting a Lifestyle Change

Step One: Decision Making


Hello! Welcome to the new series on my blog!

In this new series I will be sharing my journey with you all as I take the leap in making a lifestyle change. Beginning a lifestyle change is not only a big decision, but also a big commitment. I have decided that I am ready to take this commitment on! I found myself thinking that I wish I could look like this person or be super fit .. but I finally realized that me wishing does not get me anywhere. It was, and is time to embrace who I am NOW and work on the changes that I would like to see instead of just wishing I looked or felt a certain way.

Now, the biggest factor I came across when deciding to make this change is that it needs to be for me, or to you reading this; for yourself and yourself only. This goes hand in hand with doing it for the right reasons and doing it all in a healthy way. It is so easy to get wrapped up into seeing fitness Instagram models all looking a certain way and getting quickly discouraged while scrolling. Knowing and realizing that it is going to take time and dedication to get to the point you want to be at is something you will want to focus on and remind yourself of. Everyone is different, someone might see results quicker than you but that doesn’t mean that you are doing it wrong or should give up. Keep at it and stay strong!


Comparing will not get you anywhere, doing it for yourself will.


One of the first things that you need to decide is what you want to change and work at. Whether it be your diet, fitness habits, health.. It is all up for you to decide.

What I personally am wanting to do is improve upon my diet, eat cleaner and be more conscious with what I am eating. Trying new recipes, new foods and being aware of what I am eating is a goal of mine. I also want to improve upon my fitness. This doesn’t necessarily mean that I want to go join a gym and workout everyday for hours.. I simply just want to do things that I enjoy and are going to help me become happier and healthier. This for me means taking time to go for a run when it is nice out, trying out different workouts that seem fun to do, hiking, and making small changes that add up to make a big change. These are things that will make me more confident with myself and stronger as a whole.

Making the choice that you want to make this lifestyle change, or simply just making better choices to aid in your health and your overall well-being is something that comes from within. I believe it will make you love yourself even more and also learn things you did not know about yourself. This is something I am excited to see happen with myself.


I put together a list of my ✨ top 5 goals ✨ that I am going work my hardest at and achieve, here they are:

  1. Become an all around healthier and happier person; mentally & physically

  2. Build strength and learn more about myself through these challenges

  3. Gain knowledge about healthy choices; whether it is about nutrition or even a new workout

  4. Try new things and document them; new hikes, new foods, new adventures

  5. Fight through failures, and allow myself to make mistakes

This is all a learning curve for me and I hoping that we can take on this journey together one step at a time! I plan on continuing this serious with all of the tips and tricks I find along the way that are helping me to be successful. Pinterest is a huge help in motivating me everyday, giving me new ideas for recipes and workouts as well. Check out the "Blog Favorites" board on my Pinterest to get ready to go with me! There are a ton of new pins that I have been saving such as motivational quotes, new recipes I want to try, workouts and even cute workout clothes! I will be sharing my updates on how things are going, challenges, and progress on the blog with you and hopefully it will help you all along if you are ready to make this change in your life with me. So let’s grab our cute water bottles, throw on some active wear and sneakers and get this lifestyle change under-way! 💪
