Happy Sunday, everyone! 💖Have you ever waken up and dreaded that it was already Sunday? How did the week go by so fast?! How is Monday already tomorrow? I have the perfect "recipe" to get over your Sunday-Blues and make it a day you actually look forward to! OK, I know, how is that possible? I used to be that person who dreaded Sundays.. but now they are honestly one of my favorite days. Keep reading to find out my routine and how to reset before the new week rolls around.✨
Wake up early, but give yourself time to wake up
On Sundays I like to take my time waking up. However, I usually end up waking up at the same time I do during the week.. hahah. Just knowing I can spend an extra 15 minutes just taking my time to wake up is the best feeling and is what I need on a Sunday. Even though it is the weekend, I’m 100% a morning person and I do still like to wake up and get my day started.🌞 So lets get up, get some sunshine shining into your room and get the day rolling!
Have a “special” morning routine for your Sunday
I love to get up and put my coziest robe on and go wash my face quick - my favorite facial cleanser. I am someone who makes sure to drink water as soon as I get up to hydrate after a nights rest. Water before caffeine always! I then make my bed, it might seem silly but it makes me feel so accomplished once I make it. If my room needs it I also like to do a quick clean up - whether its putting a few clothes away, or just tidying up the top of my dresser. Some days I do make my own breakfast - the go to is a slice of multi-grain toast with an egg on top and a side of fruit (but I have to admit, I do love going to get a donut as a little treat!) Now is about time I break out my planner đź“– (my fave part of the morning). I make a to-do list for the day and write down any upcoming events that I know of and outline my week so I have an idea of what to expect and what I want to achieve. Having a designated time to plan out your week or even your day is a great way to get all your thoughts out and reset.
Take your time getting ready
Make sure to moisturize and treat your skin before you put on your makeup for the day. Once moisturizing it's time to put on your favorite makeup look - or even better go for a no makeup day! But, if I am going to wear makeup on Sundays I like to use all of my trusty products, ones that I know look good and are easy to apply. CC Cream, Powder, Bronzer, Highlighter, Mascara; and then I am all set to go pick out a comfy errands look. For Sundays, go for an easy, effortless outfit - for me this means leggings, t-shirt, cute sweatshirt and then some knee-high boots and a long warm coat for the winter time. ⛄
Do something for you
On Sundays I love to go get some Dunkin' to treat myself. It’s also just a good place to get some blog work done on my laptop or to sit and brainstorm ideas with my iced-coffee. I then love to go and browse around in Marshall’s/TJMaxx and a couple of my other favorite stores. My mom and I always treat Sunday mornings as our time to hang out and spend time with each other and it's always so much fun.💕End your errands with grabbing lunch (Panera is my go-to) or going home to make a healthy one! Some other fun things to do on Sunday would be to go get your nails done, have a photo shoot day, try a new workout class (I will be trying a yoga class very soon that I will update you all on!) or whatever your favorite hobby might be. Take time out of day to do something you really enjoy and brings joy into your life!
Productive but relaxing afternoon/night
Come home and relax. For me this means coming home and putting on some music, a YouTube video, or the Netflix show I am in the middle of and doing my list of Sunday to-dos that I had made earlier that morning. Getting things done on Sunday that I might have been pushing off during the week or even little tasks make me feel like I am ready for the week ahead of me. Doing things that I love doing really set me in the best mindset when entering into the new week, which I think is sooo important. If you are entering the week with a negative attitude or are in a bad head space that is how your week will most-likely go.
✨Some extra things that I like to do on Sundays to make my day the best it can be:
-Get outside! Hike, take a little walk, go for a quick run or just sit outside if it is nice (sunshine is the best medicine) 🌞
-Read a book (post all about my fave books coming soon!) đź“–
-Wash blankets/sheets
-Freshen up living space by lighting candles, vacuuming & dusting
-Eat healthy! Meal prep for the upcoming couple of days of the week or write out meal ideas
-Work on blog post ideas, brainstorm and write (my fave) đź’»
-Journal & do a little self-care
-End the day with a face-mask & pamper a little more than normal đź’•
Hoping that this gives you some ideas on how to make Sunday a day that you look forward to and enjoy. Make it a day full of productivity and self care and get ready to make the upcoming week YOURS! Remember, we are all unstoppable this year.
Here's to a great week and more great weeks to come. ✨
Until next time,
Michelle Elizabeth
